About Maureen Blaq | Yoga and Pilates Teacher in Abuja
I didn't start with the whole plan.
I started with restlessness, one honest decision, and a willingness to follow the next small thread.
Today, Iām a yoga and Pilates teacher, wellness professional, and brand manager helping people return to their bodies, rebuild capacity, and take the next honest step in their lives.
There was a

shop.
I was the only employee. I opened it, cleaned it, arranged the displays, recorded the sales, and waited through long quiet hours for customers who mostly came in the evenings.
ā
I enjoyed parts of the work, but I was restless in a way I couldnāt fully explain. Too much space inside me for too small a container.
ā
Eventually, I made one decision: I could not attain more while holding on to less.
ā
That decision became the first thread.
The mat became a doorway.
What started as curiosity slowly became a practice. Books changed what I consumed. Morning routines changed how I showed up. And the mat became the place I returned to myself.
01
Books
I started changing what I read, and slowly, what I believed was possible for my life began to change too.
02
Morning practice
Before the world asked anything from me, I started learning how to show up for myself first.
03
The mat
Yoga gave me a place to breathe, listen, move, and become someone I could trust.
What I believe
Transformation is not about becoming perfect. It is about returning to yourself with honesty, patience, and enough courage to take the next step.
The body is a doorway.
Movement is not the destination. It is one of the ways we begin to listen, rebuild trust, and make space for change.
You do not have to choose between being devoted and being well. Stillness, breath, prayer, and care can belong in the same life.
Faith and wellness can coexist.
You only need enough to start.
The whole plan is not the requirement. Sometimes one honest step is enough to begin changing the shape of your life.
What I do now
Today, my work helps people return to their bodies through movement, breath, reflection, and simple practices they can actually sustain.
